Ziggy has recently decided he/she likes to climb! Stressful!
Any climbing stories? View attachment 86910
That is a great pic! Ziggy is really cute. My new hatchling would like to climb but there's not a lot to climb because I'm too scared yet to put things in that are high. I just got a new hut and I'm sure this will be the next thing I'm having a heart attack over! Climbing.... Cute tort!

The only problem with them climbing is if they fall onto their backs and can't right themselves and you are not there to help them. Being on their backs is stressful to them and can be deadly.

I agree with wellington (shocker). Climbing can be dangerous, if it continues, it if were me, I would get a different hide.

My tort doesn't really like climbing! He just digs, but he will try to climb if he thinks he spots an escape!

Any suggestions of safe things to put in the keep him occupied. I had to turn the plant pot upside down because I found him upside down next to it the other day. I could remove the hide too but I may just flatten it out (it's flexible). I need some tall things so he can't see the whole house and get bored :) ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1405065294.678017.jpg

Can you add plants? Or will he just climb them? I believe if you look close enough around the house/store you will find something suitable

I need fake plants as the real ones attracted gnats/teeny black flies. I could have a wee look for some tall fake ones like the spider plant in the corner. Good idea!

I built up low sloping hills in Elsa's enclosure so she can climb with no danger of falling. I think the hill makes her enclosures more interesting to her and is also a sight barrier so she can't see the entire enclosure with just a glance.
