As soon as I got Donatello from my friend I knew he would need a bigger home asap. Living in Utah an outdoor enclosure is out of the question (he is a leopard). The only place I could think of that would give him space and not take up an entire room in my house was under my bed.
I jacked up my bed and built a large frame. My plan is to make a closed chamber that slides out from my bed and opens like his current one does.
The question I have for right now is do torts need a constant basking area if their enclosure is always at the right temp/humidity? Or does having it hot enough negate the need for a basking area assuming there is UVB.
I know they always need UVB and I'm planning on installing a non heat UVB bulb.
