Hello all again! Well I went to my capital and the vet didn't help me! She can't see a fracture in his leg! She told he is weak due to no energy because he doesn't eat! She didn't want to help me so I left with nerves! I visited a second vet and he told me who told you to do injections for vitamins and calcium? These injections have high toxicity levels! So I wanted to take blood sample and he told me if we take and he has something we can't do other injections because we don't know how the animal will react! So i came down to island with nothing and I see my danny suffer! I went down to the pharmacy and I bought probiotics in powder and electrolytes and I mixed a small portion in the water! Danny seemed to drinking! I released him now in the sun and I managed to feed him some bites hawkbits and the leaves and plantain! He seems that je wanted to poop but he couldn't and i try to collect sample in case of worms! Any idea what's the best to do to see some good results?

I'm sorry the vet wasn't helpful (I guess, it was a long and stressful trip both for you and Danny).

If you want to get a sample from him - feed some cactus pads or aloe vera and give him a long warm soak. I'm surprised that Danny didn't poop during a car ride.

The fresh sample can be put in a sterile container (you can get one from the pharmacy or use other clean plastic can). Sample can be stored in a fridge (not freezer) for up to 24-48 hours - the longer you keep it, the less chances are to find other parasites, but worms and their eggs can still be identified.

I wouldn't agree about toxicity of injections - *correct* dosage and substances are relatively safe (especially when compared to de-worming or antibiotic medicines). I also don't understand the refusal to take blood sample: if Danny has something it's better to know about it.

What probiotic did you get?

It was a very stressful trip and I think its going to be extremely stressful to do it again! Wilma pooped in the box! I saw danny today tried to poop but he couldn't! Could it be a rock inside and he can't throw it? I can't hear difficult breathing or any other noise! No bubbles from nose and runny eyes! I told her to take a sample and she told me to return them in nature! I took and advice from a second vet and he told me that its a lot of cost of any bacteria sample and he has something you should stay in capital to watch his move and to give the exact treatment! I try everyday to give him cactus! He doesn't want! Should I try this trip? I think i will give him more stress! I will try to take sample from here! But will the blood sample last for one whole day to go there? At my capital? Do you think that he has worms?

To help Danny to pass a stone you can look for mineral oil ("liquid paraffine") in pharmacies - you need medical grade, without additives, used as laxative. Probably, like this: https://www.skroutz.cy/s/12492993/Zarbis-Camoil-Johnz-Vary-Parafinelaio-Farmakopoiias-200ml.html (but it's better to ask in pharmacy). Add some drops on a lettuce leaf and wrap it (like "gyros").

I would postpone a trip to the capital for a while. A basic fecal test can be done in a local vet lab. You can also talk to them, if they send some samples to the capital with a courier.

In may month that I send fecal samples they were clear! I will ask if they can do diagnosis here for feces! Today the only food he ate and some bites is from plantain and hawkbits! He doesn't eat anything else! He doesn't touch lettuce and I don't know why!

You can use any green leaves that he likes. Many tortoises love lettuce but mine doesn't like it too.

If he completely refuses to eat, you can gently rub some mineral oil into cloaka opening. But when given with foods it can be more effective.

Thank you! I have to say a detail here! Before I leave for the trip danny was walking more good! As I see it i.gabe him more stress and he started limping again! The second vet told me that there is a possibility the combination of the injections and October month that tortoises slowing down gave him more stress and its difficult to come back from this! Its the doctor that he told me its was a mistake that I did injections!

That's possible. Anyway, I don't see an immediate need to stress him with another trip. So, hopefully he will recover.

Try using red food coloring on his food to stimulate his appetite. It should work and certainly worth a try!

Sometimes when a tortoise isn't pooping, you can encourage it to by putting him into warm water that is deeper than the tortoise's feet can touch the bottom of the container. The idea is to force him to move his legs a lot, to swim, which massages his internal organs and can get constipation to break loose. You have to keep the water warm the entire time, and stand there the whole time in case he starts to sink or can't swim very well. Sometimes it takes a very long time (an hour or so) of moving to get the poop to come out.

I try 5 days to make him poop but I can't see anything! He doesn't eat so much! The only food that eats is plantain ribwort!

How long has this been going on? If it is long enough to scare you, then feed him what he will eat, and balance it next week once he's eating and pooping normally.

Try the water exercise described above.

Feed him whatever he will eat for a few days - there is no way to poop if there isn't anything in his intestinal tract. Try something high in water content like cucumber, watermelon, or cactus pads..

Is it possible he is pooping and you are just not finding it?

It sounds as though he may be pooping outside and you are just missing it. However, do you have pictures of the "stones" you spoke of? If so, please post them here.

More soaks, more deep water swims (the legs moving massage his insides and will help expel whatever is inside), keeping water warm (33 to 35 C) ALL the time he's in it. Watch closely that he doesn't sink or have trouble keeping his head above water during the deep-water exercising - if so hold him so his head id above the water.

Feed him whatever he will eat, at least for a few days or a week - anything is better than nothing.

Do you have access to Mineral Oil? You might try putting a drop of MINERAL OIL on some of what he will eat, rolling it inside so he doesn't get a huge bite of it first and stop eating that, too. You want it to be so slight, and hidden, that he can't taste it.
Also swab his cloaca, inside and out, getting Mineral Oil inside if you can. It soothes the passing and encourages more.

I think I saw in your previous post that someone asked you about your indoor temperature and humidity is for Danny? I don’t think you answered? And from What Iv read if Danny is not feeling well he needs it to be very warm to help him recover. Not just outside sunlight

I try my best! I tried to put some mineral oil in a slice of banana! He ate it! I give him soaks with electrolytes from pharmacy! On your left is the tortoise that limps and he passes 3 stones! There is only one left in think!
