Hello,

I own a 1-month old hermanni. According to the care sheet, humidity should be 70%

Could someone please tell me where should I measure it, exactly? Substrate level? 1-inch above the substrate? Under the basking spot? Middle of the enclosure?

I do have a probe sensor but values vary greatly and it's extremely hard to reach above 45-50% humidity directly under the basking spot due to the very high temps..

Substrate/tort level. I do not read right under basking. That will always be lower. Read it in the middle of the enclosure at tort level.

I have a two month old Hermann's. I measure the humidity about 1 inch about the substrate in the basking area and on the cool side area. I only do the 70% humidity overnight via closed chamber. During the day, little Tucker "airs" out in his open enclosure.
