You will soon find your tort tries to walk off the scale

Find a jar or can on the scale which has a smaller diameter than your tort's plastron. Your tort can be balanced on it with its legs dangling over the sides and not walk off because it's stranded.

Put the can on the scale and zero it. Then balance your tort on the can and you'll have its weight :)

I weigh mine every week. I think that's probably more than necessary, but it's become habit. At the least it makes me happy that the scale keeps going up. Nice looking tortoise!

Once a fortnight is plenty :)

Try to do it at roughly the same time of day each time as their weight varies throughout the day just like yours does.

Also remember that when they're small a pee or poop can make a massive difference to weight!
