Does anyone know if hearts of palm (usually comes in a can) is safe for a Redfoot tortoise? I've red up on the tortoise table but I didn't see it mentioned. I know it's sort of a weird thing but just thought I'd ask if anyone knows
Thanks

I've never heard of that being fed. Let's see what others say.

This food is a good source of Protein, Vitamin C and Calcium.... although high in sodium.
Usually derived from the coconut (Cocos nucifera), Palmito Juçara (Euterpe edulis), Açaí palm (Euterpe oleracea), sabal (Sabal spp.), pupunha and pejibaye (Bactris gasipaes) palms. I would be somewhat leery of processed / canned foods if any preservatives have been used in the canning process. Brazil was leading country growing/exporting until the 1990's of this food ....until over harvesting took place.

Thanks for your help! I have some organic hearts of palm, but I'll probably only give him a sliver, if any
Thanks again
