Help!

My russian tortoise, Gracie, needs more sun! But it gets really hot here and I dont enjoy it much sitting watching her in the heat and I can tell as doesn't enjoy it either! What do I do?

Gracie needs a safe and secure outdoor pen so that she can live outside all the time. The pen should have sides that she can't climb out of, or dig under. She should have a couple hiding places and a waterer. If you're worried about birds carrying her off, you can put a lid on the habitat, but my steppe tortoises live outside just fine in an open pen.

If you can't provide a pen outside, then you will have to invest in an expensive UV light. The Mercury Vapor Bulbs provide heat and UV in the same bulb, and those are the ones I use for tortoises that can't go outside.
