Thanks guys! I'm from Ayrshire so not too far from some of you fellow scots I will only have the 1 tort.. Well for a while anyway. The closest Pet I've ever had was a pair of terrapins but I'm looking forward to a bit of bonding with the new kid on the bloc will get some pics ect once I'm back my holidays. Never been so excited to get home before lol

Horsfields are lovely wee things, I have 3 now! They are utterly mad and greedy (so I would advise reading up on edible weeds!!) and just amazing wee things!

Hi Merlin, I agree with you they are mad. Mine will eat rocket, not any rocket! M&S Baby rocket. They will turn the noses up at anything else, I'm beginning to think they can read the packaging it comes in. If you give them food they don't like they stand at it make noises and look at the food and them look at me. Absolute characters .lol

Yes I know the face you mean, its Nutrazu with 2 of mine right now... my littlest one will eat anything she sees though, but she is having a growth spurt!

Has anyone ever used a heat mat rather than heat lamp for their tort?

I have used a heat mat as well, they are really not enough to get the right basking temp...
