No, I know a very little basic Viet from my days travelling.
I lived In Thailand for 2 years and visited Vietnam a few times.
I only have a few phrases, which is why I'm doing this In English.
How about

I hope to return one day, but I have no plans at this time.
It was all many years ago, I visited Phong-Nha-Ke Bang National Park, The Hue Monuments' Complex, and the area around the mountains that border with Laos. It was lovely, Very friendly people.

You haven't had him very long. He will get comfortable and then get brave. Especially if he has a girlfriend :)
His girlfiend is Su Su. I kept Su Su 5 years ago. and Sam Sam kept last week. I'm monitoring the health of the new tortoise. It is difficult, because here is no Veterinarians for tortoise and services for tortoise. ^^ But i'll try to learn from everybody ^^ Thanks you, Leigti!!!

It is recommended to keep the new tortoise away from your old one for 3 to 6 months at least. If he is still fine after the Corentine. Then you can put them together. If there is only one girl he may harass her so you may have to keep them separate or get more girls.
