ID help?

This morning I was approached my someone asking me to take in their tort that they can no longer care for. Before I give them an answer I was hoping to get a confirmation of the torts ID and gender.

I'd like to help them out, because they told me they have a "testudo tortoise" and are keeping it in a glass aquarium. photo 2.JPGphoto 3.png photo 1.JPG

I'm not the best one to take an answer from on the Testudo species, but I'm goin' for - it's a Hermanni

That's what I was thinking too, maybe someone else will chime in that knows for sure. I got another picture of the tail, and I'm guessing it's a male but hopefully someone will be able to tell me for sure!

I may not be good at I.D. ing the Testudo species, but I'm good at knowing tails. Male for sure!!

That's what I figured when I saw the second picture, but from the first one I thought maybe it's a female. I was hoping!

I don't own the video I found it on YouTube and it has a lot of useful info .
