I have a little hide in my adult Greek tortoise habitat, it's basically Half of a shoe box, But it's hard to tell if he's looking for food or just being annoying cause he pushes it over like its useless lol, instead of using his hide he digs under the enclosure until he finds the tarp, and then goes under the tarp, he only does this under the heat lamp (I'm geussing it's because the tarp is the most easiest access on that corner, he will go to that tarp wether the heat lamp is on or off so I'm pretty sure he's making a "New" hide, any suggestions on building your own? I would love to get a log hide but they seems to take a lot of space and I'm pretty sure he whont fit. Thanks! :D

I use terra cotta pots on their side and my little Greeks seem to like them, they each go to their same one every night. Like it's their little garage. So cute.

My DTs love the clay pots too. They each have one in their night boxes, and I never thought about it, but they absolutely look like cars in the garage when they sleep in there!

They also like wood hides -- just a simple log of firewood they can burrow under.

A nice pile of Long Fiber Organic Sphagnum Moss will give him a nice hide. You can make a tunnel in it, but odds are he'll enjoy making his own tunnel. You can find it at Home Depot and Lowes for around $3.00

I use a plastic "pot" for plants I got when I bought a hibiscus plant. My tortoise seems to enjoy it more than the half log hides.
