I live in Northwest Ohio near Lima where there are no known documented cases of Eastern Box Turtles habituating in this area. Nor have I seen one in the wild here. However, about 60-80 miles north of where I live Easterns are known to be well established. (where I have seen them in the wild) So Bowling Green State University students tracked 2 groups of Eastern females and their behavior of nesting for 10 weeks last year to help educate people about their movement and the importance of not restricting the cycle. The amount of movement was astonishing to me, especially for box turtles being territorial. I uploaded the PDF file, good read on Easterns
