There looks to me like pyramiding is present, but daily soakings, your humidity levels, a humid hide, access to it's own soaking saucer and moist substrate should prevent it from getting any worse.

What intersets me is that I have seen al his siblings. And some are perfectly smooth others like this. Breeder knows how he must tend for hatchlings. He soaks them daily, keeps them in a humid enclosure.
I am starting to think that pyramiding has something to do also with genetics. Beacause I have also seen mother and father of these babies. And mother is perfectly smooth, but the father is pyramided.
And the reason why I picked this one is that this one was the only one of almost 30 babies that peed on me :)
And my girlfriend said that this is the one :).

I think that as with almost everything else, genetics plays some part.
However, the looks of the parents may be due to upbringing, not just genetics, and if upbringing is the cause, it will not pass on to the offspring.
Your reason for choosing him is as good as any other! :)
