Hi, this is my first turtle and within the last few weeks her shell is getting more like this. I'm wondering if she rubbed her shell on one of the turtle branches I have in there (they are aquatic turtle safe and from the pet store). If this is shell rot, can I treat it at home or do you recommend I take her to the vet? Thank you!

From the pictures, that does not appear to be shell rot. Appears to be scutes that need to be shed. They get a bit loose and water can get beneath the old layer and look like that. Ensure good diet and exposure to sunlight/basking and a good shed will fix all that.

Thank you, Mark! I greatly appreciate the input. I'll make sure to provide her all of those things to help with the shed.
