I had just opened the leopard shed to allow them to come out and I saw what looked like a muddy, covered up nest up against the fence. Digging down into the soft mud I discovered eleven leopard eggs.
Then, as I was knocking down the tall grass in the box turtle yard with the weed wacker, I saw the little luteola baby sitting up on top of a clump of grass. When I picked him up he feels like a little paper shell. There's no substance to him at all. I hope he makes it (the black square behind him is a bit of frozen blood worms). Guess I won't be weed wacking box turtle yards for a while.
