leaf litter

Howdy, I was wondering about leaf litter that has fallen off trees that moe than likely have been treated.
Once off the tree, can't you utilize these?
Can they still harm our shelled ones?

I perssonally don't use anythign that has ever been treated. but I grow a lot of my own so I can understand wanting to use other stuff, But I do not know how long pesticides and fertilizers stay around, you might have to look it up online.
