I was hoping to confirm, or be corrected if I'm wrong, that the Mt. Etna locale are the smallest on average, followed closely by the Apulians. Thanks in advance.
Direct quote from the keeper (Chris Leone) with the foremost knowledge and breeding success with westerns.
“On the other end of the size spectrum, the T. h. hermanni native to Mount Etna on Sicily, Italy are usually the smallest with our adults reaching only 4 to 5". Variation prevails in nature and just when we think we've got it figured out, we are thrown a curve ball. Localities or forms of course have something to do with these different sizes but even within a population you can find variety.”
That's where I have been getting most of my information from. So many small details on the different locales so I wanted to be sure I wasn't mixing things up. Thanks for the reply.
If you have more questions especially about westerns, Chris usually responds to emails extremely fast. I know because I bother him fairly regularly haha!
