When I first separated my Russians (because of dominance and aggression) the aggressor (raphael in your case) searched all over for the missing tortoises which were now in a separate enclosure. I don't think he was affectionately looking for them, rather pacing his territory to confirm the intruders were gone. Within no time, he settled down and enjoyed solo living.
How long before he settled down? Raphael is still pacing the enclosure, digging at the corners, etc.

I'd say....a few weeks. 2 or 3?
I moved him out of a 20' x 6' outdoor enclosure (left the girls there) and put him in a 17' x 8' outdoor enclosure by himself. They were heavily planted. Lots of tall grass, weeds, tree stumps etc. Lots to navigate. I most definitely saw a difference eventually. He became more content once he knew his territory was just "his".
