Hi I have a ton of this marigold in my yard and was wondering if I can feed it to my tortoises. I once saw it as an ingredient in tortoise food but I want to make sure my tortoise can eat it healthfully . ImageUploadedByTortForum1381781661.728123.jpg

Ditto. Also, that pic looks really nice. Wouldn't mind seeing more of your yard. The landscaping in the little bit we can see in the pic is really nice.

Do a search on http://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/site/tortoise_home_1.asp on marigold. There are actually a few types. The safe marigold is referred to as "pot marigold" and is actually in the calendula family. I believe the kind you have is "french marigold" which repels annoying insects and animals but is considered not safe for consumption. I made this mistake when I was buying seeds for spring. I could be completely wrong, though.

I won't lie; I'm massively jealous right now. Also, I have no shame; can you pay for my backyard to look like that? :D

It took a lot of work and time! I did all of the landscaping but we had the pond built for us a few years back! :)
