I know this may sound like a stupid question to some of you but my wife is very recently pregnant.
She loves our little tortoise buddy but I am a little concerned about her contracting something like toxoplasmosis as she likes to play with buddy.
Is there any risk?

There are no worries...
Just tell her not to put Buddy in her mouth or drink his bath water ;)

(Excuse my sarcasm..just playfully trying to tell you that she and the new baby will be fine with standard hygiene)

I agree with the above. I would get more!
Kidding...... No worries at all.
Enjoy the tortoise and pregnancy!

:DThankyou for putting my mind at ease. Though I haven't seen Buddy in Emmas mouth before we both now know we shouldn't do it :D

If Emma is putting baby torts in her mouth, getting a disease from him is the least of your worries! ;)

My wife was surrounded by a whole bunch of tortoises during her pregnancy and we experienced no issues at all. My little girl has been interacting with the tortoises in one capacity or another since birth, and no issues their either. She's been toddling around in their enclosures since she could walk as well as touching them and holding them once she was old enough.
