Here are a few pics of the enclosure i just built for the sulcata i rescued last week.I have a merc vapor bulb and ceramic on the way as well as grazing tortoise seed mix from caraolina supply.still need to get plastic and substrate for the bottom (any suggestions).i also made a hide in one corner out of bark skinned of a poplar and a piece of slate on the other end waiting for the lamp.i also lined the tunnel with the bark.
the top of the table is a full sheet of plywood lined with vinyl flooring with two shower curtain liners on top followed by the cypress mulch.
I am going to grow all if food in flats underneath the table.

That's a beautiful tort table and you've done a wonderful job building it, however, I got the impression from the picture of the tortoise that he was big enough to be living outside full time. I would like to see the tortoise inside the table to get a better perspective. Also, if he's as big as I think he is, he'll quickly climb out of those short sides.

That is a fantastic table but i have to agree with Yvonne, the walls are to low and your tort would do so much better if he were outside.

I hope this helps!

I didn't see pictures of your sulcata, but the table is awsome. I like the steep ramp, that should be some good exercise!

the reason i used the sides that i idid is that it is a pressed board with veneer so it is very very slick.I will also be building an outdoor box probably inside cinderblocks. The injury looked much better today.I will try to post a pick of him on the table.I think that it should be fine to at least last him through the winter, he aslo gets to go outside every day for exercise

i was also wondering how old he might be and whether i am better off seeing if the is someone around here who already has the perfect outside setup and would like to take him and get a baby
here is the only pick i have of him inside right now

I think he's probably around 5 or 6 years old.

do you still think he is too big.i know u want him outside, but he gets plenty of exercise( my mother in law owns apts. and stays home everyday and lets him out and hangs with him) i plan on moving him to my moms right down the road who has acres of grass and she said she would love to have him but for now is the table ok

i think this table would be awesome for a smaller tortoise. maybe after i get the sulcata situated permenantly outside i can get a different species for the table.what species would be plenty comfortable on this table
