Hi All!
I recently acquired two Indian Tent Turtle which where recovered from fishermen's net. I put them in a cement tank built into the ground, the dimensions of which are 10' x 11' x 4'
About a day later, one of them died but the other one readily comes out for basking on a floating tree root chunk or a flat wooden plank about 2 square foot in area.
The tank (simple river sand substrate with some laterite soil mixed) has following plants: hydrilla, vallisnaria, amazon swords, water lily, salvinia and fishes : hundreds of zebra danios, 10 queen boatia loach, 10 dwarf gouramis, some carps & a couple of snakeheads (gachua) and numerous frogs that keep moving in and out.
Given the tanks size and population, how well would the Slider do? Do I need to worry about feeding it anything additional? Will it be able to scavenge food for itself in there? Can I put in an albino Flapshell turtle (shell length of about 6") in the same tank?
Please advice.
Thank you all!
