Hi, I joined the forum yesterday.

I have an eastern Hermann's tortoise called Edward. I've had him for 40 years. He was fully grown when I got him so I think he is about 90 years old. Does anybody have any ideas how long they live,as I am very attached to him. Any advise would be welcome.

You could also be significantly off in your estimate of his age now - depending on the conditions while he was growing, he could have been as young as 10 when you got him. We haven't been keeping most species in captivity long enough to have a good sense of lifespan - just assume you have many decades ahead of you.

Welcome! Always great to hear about a tortoise that's living a long life, even if it's "only" fifty years! :)
