Finished phase 2 ? planting done and irrigation in we decided to put the sprinklers up in the corners instead of directly in the yard. I didn’t want to take a chance of Sheldon bull dozing them. Super happy with the broadleaf weed mix’s from Tortoise Supply it popped right up and Sheldon has been enjoying grazing on it.View attachment 300924

Those corrugated front panels on the flower boxes look great. Adds some very nice architectural design.

Definitely in the running for BEST OUTDOOR Tortoise House/Garden/Shed Design 2020 in the Great TFO Show.

Thank you so much for your kind words, we have worked hard to make sure we can provide the best for Sheldon since our climate is cold and rainy so wanted to give him room to move around. I love the flower beds as well ❤️

Now you did it. I've been isolating with no problem, but now I'm gonna have to drive down and see Sheldon, and you...That habitat is just really nice...wow
Thank you ? we would enjoy a visit when the craziness subsides. ( I work at a hospital) so we have been isolating at home as much as possible thankfully our projects have keep us busy and Home Depot in business ?❤️?

I have had a few questions on how we built the enclosure. We used 2x6x8s 4x4 posts and slide hangers to attach the boards to the posts. For irrigation he ran a pvc pipe from our hose bib to the enclosure and stubbed up a Water faucet that we connected drip line to we put hedge sprinklers in the corners and bought a battery operated timer to water twice a day to keep heat down and finally a small quick shade over his burrow to keep it cooler5F1CA6EC-7E59-4D4A-856D-A99969B87E1F.jpegB8E1A9AF-406E-4B30-9354-4AD4B17F3B8A.jpegFEACAC31-8349-45BE-8774-D97A7469ADCA.jpeg0CF0B1AB-2E10-4A7C-A0CB-7E9E479901E5.jpeg608AF8AF-492F-441B-BFFA-C863C0B57712.jpeg

Well into phase 3, insulation to the shed walls, floors and ceiling. Next was building his night box. Decided to go big with it so it will work for him as he grows. Went the full width of the shed. Made a half wall with a opening. Hung a pipe with plastic runners to keep heat in. The lid is full length and lifts up to allow me access to clean. To protect the lane heat mat cord we added brackets to slide a piece of plywood to block access. For sealing pond liner for the box and flex seal paint for the shed floor. That's about how we look as well. My lungs are compromised anyway, so it's made it hard to breathe, I'm using my inhaler more, ash all over everything ugh

I would like to inform those of you with smoke and falling ash falling on you now, paint and paint products and other chemicals have a quantity of ash. Can damage your paint. Rinse the hell outa the car. Then keep it covered. The mixture of ash and rain could be trouble.
