My sister had a birthday party and I brought out my russian tortoise earl. normally he is ok, my tank has a cool and warm side, he has heat and uvb and avalible water. i give him calcium powder on his food weekly and bathe him twice a week. this has happened before but i want to hear from someone else. so he got fed alot. Way more than he normally eats. And this morning there was liquid white poop instead of the regular brown poop. does anyone know anything about this. feel free to criticize if you think theres something else im doing. also my tort has always looked healthy and is very active and always eats.

What was he fed? Grocery store greens might cause loose stool, but proper broadleaf weeds and leaves would be less likely to.

Also, the stress of traveling could be a contributing factor.

Either way, I wouldn't worry about it. I would soak him a few times a week for a couple of weeks to make sure he stays nice and hydrated, but that's it.

Liquid white poop is urates. This is quite normal and natural. Tortoises save up the liquid inside their bodies and reuse it over and over. What is left after all the reuse is urates. It the urates come out liquid or slightly thickened, that's normal. If they come out hard, it means the tortoise is dehydrated.

Ahh. I missed the word "white" in the poop description. Good catch Yvonne. That's what I get for doing TFO during breakfast while also talking to the wife and kid...

Hehehe!

He's just fine, occasionally my russain has urates too, but not often :D Also, lumpy (and hard) urates are a sign of dehydration or something else, but that thick creamy consistency you described is fine.
