peeling shell?

I was taking a look at max’a shell yesterday after his bath, and it looks like it’s peeling? Does anyone know of this is something that needs looked at or is it normal?

from my understanding like all reptiles tortoises shed as well so you shouldn’t worry

Shells don’t shed. It looks like maybe hard water. @Tom can help you out

Just looks to me as if he's bumping up against a hard surface as he walks along. Nothing to worry about.
