Please help RE: Constipation/Hemorrhoid

Hi everyone.

Please could you help.

Out tortoise was just pooing but seemed to really struggle. His bum then had this weird pink thing come out and then eventually go back in, a haemorrhoid I'm guessing.

We are now soaking him to try and relieve any constipation he might have.

Any suggestions on what it could be and solutions for it? And does he need to go to the vets?

Although being named Tommy and me referring to him as a him, we believe that our tortoise is in fact a girl.

We were sold him as a male hence the name and habit of calling her a him.

Does that change things?

Yes, what you could have seen is known as a prolapse. If it went back in you may be OK, but I would keep an eye on it.

If you can post a picture the forum may be able to confirm the sex of your Tommy.
