Pool filter sand

So is pool filter sand safe to use or not? I just spent HOURS rinsing and adding 100 pounds to my tank and then looked at the bag and read the warning so then I spent hours again removing all of it and cleaning everything. BUT everyone says it’s safe to use. I don’t understand.

Thank you, I wish I wasn’t so quick to get scared and pull it all out because now I have to put it all back 😭😭😂
