I took my cherry outside today for the first time! Finally got some warm weather. I left him in his outside enclosure for a couple hours and when i brought him back in he had very raised growth lines. I soaked him for a while and they decreased significantly. Is this just a dehydration thing? Whats going on?

I think it's a dehydration thing. Tyler from tortoise supply commented once about his yellowfoot hatchlings doing that very same thing.

When I first had my set up my tank was way to dry and my poor little hatchling would shrivel up and I would notice that he would puff back out after a soak.

Needless to say I quickly changed my setup and I haven't had the problem since.

You need to always make sure they have water available, even when you put them outside, 24/7

Ya i kinda figured that was the problem. In the end his outdoor enclosure is still in the works, but i figured putting him outside for a while couldnt hurt as long as i wet the soil down well before i put him out. Ill make sure to get a water source asap!

Happy Easter!
