Red Cheeked Mud turtle cant submerge

He is not able to submurge. Has a basking spot of 86 degrees. Wondering what may be going on. Going to the vet this week.

That sometimes happens when they've been out of the water for too long a period. It seems to dry them out inside. Eventually they are able to resorb water and sink. But in case that's no what's wrong, a vet visit is a good idea.
