Safe plant? Maybe

Is a dogwood tree ok for redfoots? Im working on a miniature. Im shaping it that way it's not actually a miniature. But I thought it would give shade and look cool in there

Dogwood (Common Dogwood, Red Osier Dogwood, Rough Leaved Dogwood)
Dogwood is native to parts of the natural territory of the North American Gopher tortoise, and although there is some evidence that the flowers and leaves of the dogwood are harmless, there are other sources that say the leaves can cause skin irritations in humans, and the berries are slightly toxic...

Use your own judgement. I have several plants in my tortoise enclosures that are supposed to be toxic. The tortoises leave them alone.
