Hello,
I recently got a tortoise from a friend who left the country. Im new to turtle raising. I noticed his shell problem and look like its damaged or rot. Please check and advise. Thank you.

Russian tortoises get all banged up during the capture/shipping process. I don't see anything unusual on your tortoise's shell.

Hello, thank you for the response. As I do not know much about shell rot and was worried about it. Do I need to regularly clean the shell? Thanks.

You can if you want. I usually pour water over the shells during bath time. During these times, I also give them a once over to make sure there's nothing wrong (shell rot, eye/nose issues, cuts, etc.). These times also let me bond with my torts and gets them used to being handled.
