and I actually remembered to bring my camera out with us.
I have to bring him outside since he's too small for me to feel comfortable leaving him outside by himself yet.

He's a different tortoise outside.
He LOVES it.
The sun was SOOO bright today, and I hated that it washed his colors out so much.

He likes to eat these thick pieces of grass in our yard. Since I'm not sure what they are, I do not let him eat too much.

I could take a MILLION pictures of this tortoise, and it would never be too many.

I fell in love with Mr. Stagger Lee from the first time I viewed his mushroom-and-turd photo session. The little guy just oozes personality...you ought to consider a professional modeling career for him.

Stagger is a very nice looking Cherryhead. All Dale does when he goes outside is hide. I don't know why we built him this big old cage all we really needed was his hide because he never comes out once he goes in. :( Great pictures thanks for sharing. :D

Thanks, ladies!
I use a Nikon D300 and a 60mm f2.8 macro AF-S lens.:D

I concur with the ladies. Handsome lil dude and neat shots. He goes down the runway for you haha.
And is that not Bermuda grass?

Thanks!

I have NO IDEA what kind of grass it is.
It's grass, grass.
Nothing special.
Whatever is in most people's yards.
But there are these long thicker pieces that grow randomly in spots.
And he likes those pieces for whatever reason.

Thanks, guys!!!

TerryO,

I LOVE my camera. BUT, I will admit that I've known people to own better gear than mine that take CRAP pictures.
You have to be willing to work with your subject and have an eye for shots or it doesn't matter WHAT gear you have.:D

I had to lay down in the grass with Stagger to get most of those shots.
And even then it was not easy.

I've seen shots taken with gear that costs way less than mine, and they were some of the best shots I've ever seen.

:D
