What is a good substrate for wintering my 35lb Sulcata? I have a 4X6 ft room for him and I have thought about sand since it would be easier to get rid of pee and poop. Please and Thank You.

I have been using cypress mulch in my 40lb sulcata's outside enclosure and I have been very pleased. With the colder temps he doesn't venture out much and the cypress mulch absorbs the urine and it makes cleaning up the poop very easy and he doesn't seem to mind it.

I don't use any substrate with my 100 pound Sulcata and that makes it so it's easy to pick up and mop.

I thought you needed to. Lol I put down a tarp and then a stall mat like you would use for horses.

I didn't have any at first but it smelled like a barn after a night of pooping, the cypress mulch has eliminated the smell completely..
