Just ordered sulcata seeds from sulcatafood.com yesterday and i would like to know if i can plant them in a small tray and put it under the mvb light?

Or would that be too hot? I do have a regular uvb light that i can use for it but i dont wanna use that in my tortoise enclosure.

I think the MVB will be to hot. can you get a plant bulb and grow the grass in the corner of your enclosure or get two trays grow it outside the enclosure and rotate them out when you need to.I have two that I rotate out my Leo's plows through it pretty quick:D

Madkins posted something a while back about plants and tortoises. It had something to do with a different spectrum in the light required by plants. I think it was something like plants need more of the blue spectrum. But I don't really remember. It WAS interesting reading, but I'm old and have really good short term memory loss! :D

Oh ok, and the plant bulb has the blue spectrum unlike the mvb bulb right?
