surroundings

hi i just got a greek tortoise and set up his tank with a forest looking tank surround on3 sides like you use on a fish aquarium.when my greek is active he goes to one corner and tries to climb up the side he doesnt see clear glass as it is covered help explain why he just goes to that corner . one time he did it for an hour i kinda got worried cause he just kept hitting his face is he trying to tell me something ?is there something i should change or add?some help please.thank you

Maybe he thinks he can eat the forrest stuff?

I think they all do that in glass enclosures. I have an eastern boxie that does the same thing. I keep them outside in warm months. I think they get restless inside in the winter. They are trying to get to the biggwr area outside the glass enclosure. I also have a plastic enclosure for my other one and she does not do that. They could bruse theirself if they do it too long

Welcome to the forum by the way! I just read your post again and you have something on the sides.....I guess he cant see the larger area then. I am not sure why he is doing that?? If only we could read their minds!

i know he does it sometimes for like a half hr to an hour he just climbs up a little then slides his nose back down only that corner the other 2 sides have the same decoration feel bad for him if anybody knows a little tip that would be great thank you
