Robert Greene's "The 48 Laws of Power" is a distillation of three thousand years of history into 48 laws that govern power among the human species. It includes the philosophies of Machiavelli, Carl von Clausewitz, Sun-tzu and other great strategists and thinkers throughout history. Greene's laws begin with Law 1, "Never outshine the master," and continues to Law 48, which instructs those seeking power to "Assume formlessness," meaning once a plan is visible, it is open to attack.
