My baby Russian, Clyde, came from tortoise supply this morning. He got a nice soak them stomped around his home a bit before settling into the humid hide for a nap.

So far he hasn't eaten but he did drink and have a poo in his arrival bath so all in all he's doing well so far!!

I love that he has his name on the side of the enclosure.

Thanks! I do that for all my reps! Here is a picture of the stack I currently have of T8s from animal plastics.

The other 4 are ball pythons.(sorry for foggy glass, snakes just got a good misting)

From first picture left to right Sephiroth is a blue eyed Lucy, Cloud is pied, Loki is normal het for pied, and the one in Thor's tank is actually named Seifer and he's a butter spider.
For those who aren't well versed in the annoyingly detailed world of ball python morphs here are pictures of the crew

You have some beautiful balls, I love the pied! How do you like the Animal Plastics? I've been considering trying them for young box turtles.

I love their cages but I cannot say enough about their customer service. You won't ever find a better company to buy from. I accidentally broke to glass to Clyde's tank last weekend taking it out of storage. They rush manufactured replacements and got them in the mail that same day and I had them in less than 3 days time.

The cages themselves are wonderful. It won't work for Clyde forever but for now it is a great fit. I won't lie, they are more expensive than some, but the quality is stellar. You can drill wherever you need for your setup for lights and whatever and the 3 enclosed sides helps the animals inside feel more secure. They hold humidity amazingly. With the snakes a once a week misting is plenty and for Clyde with all the drying lights once a day max to keep things good. All in all worth the extra cost imho. Planning on another for snakes in the next year or so as we expand to begin some amateur breeding.

I word of caution, they make orders as they come in, nothing is in stock so the lead time can be kind of high. The T8s are quick ship but I've still had to wait up to 3 weeks from order to arrival.

Got Clyde out for his morning soak. He pooped during the bath. Put him in front of good pile of dandelion greens and spring mix. He had 4 or 5 pieces all about 1" x 1" then explored awhile before returning to his hot humid hide.

Question, when I soak him he spends a lot of time with is nose under the water but don't look like his mouth is open. Is he just enjoying the water or drinking?

All in all he's doing great

He is drinking. When my box turtles go for a drink I sometimes think they must be drowning they keep their heads under water for so long. But no, just taking a good long drink.

He must have been really thirsty this morning!! Then again he didn't drink at all yesterday in his enclosure so I guess that's normal. He's been comfortable in his humid hide for about 3 hours now. Figure this will be his normal for awhile till he adjusts more but I'm quite glad he ate!
