I've read a few postings on other web sites that talk about tortoises pooing as much as a large horse ... lol... is there any truth to that ? I'm assuming that size has something to do with that as well. Jim

My 140g Sulcata poops a ton for his size, I've seen videos of adults and your description is pretty accurate;)

My desert tortoises sink like a stone. Some, like leopards and galapagos can float. I've never tested it with my 110lb sulcata.

Most of my Redfoot do swim and swim regularly. But two of them sink every time and stay in the shallow area of the pools.
They eat a lot of food and what goes in, will mostly, eventually come out.
