I have come to the conclusion that I am subconsciously drawn to animals with attitude. My ackie is super ballsy, a couple of my snakes are absolute grouches, and my tortoise has an attitude all her own as well!
Nor reeeeeeally likes being outside. Apparently fresh salad (i.e. dandelions and clover) are much better than bagged salad (she pretty much ignores anything that isn't from the lawn unless there's absolutely nothing else) and I am NOT to touch her while she's grazing in the yard. If I touch her shell on the sides or from a third of the way back from her head to right above her tail she makes this huge (well, for a tortoise her size it's huge) huffing noise and then boogies off at top tortoise speed. If you touch her again she whirls around and charges, mouth open, eyes wide. I know that she knows it's me and I know that it's because she's eating (she doesn't do it when she's in the house or cruising around on the cement patio). It just totally cracks me up. She even started ramming me the other day when my hand was where she wanted to go; instead of going around it she insisted I move it.
Hopefully this is a normal thing and not something I should be concerned about? Do all torts have this much attitude?
