tunneling?

My russian tortoise keeps burrowing down into her soil as far as she can go and then she will just move around her house but underneath the soil, like a tunnel. Her head will just appear somewhere else lol.
She does this all day and doesnt really bother moving around too much on the surface after she has eaten and bathed. Is this a temperature thing? Or is it normal as I know they love to burrow?

Mine goes in spurts where she will do that. Lately she has been all about the basking, but sometimes I find huge trenches all around her enclosure.

Russian tortoises are one of the few true burrowing species so it's normal.
