After five hours of hard work and moving a huge pile of rocks I finish (or partially finished) my little turbos outside pen. He loved it today, I need to get more plants, thinking about asparagus fern and a few larger plants to give him humid places to hide in the leaves, suggestions? Ive seen and have a huge list but I don't know all of the plants, so far it's just aloe Vera and some Bermuda grass seed.. Anything I can toss in to make it... Not so bare looking.

People spreads bird seeds down and a bunch of random flowers and weeds will pop up. Also maybe a few hiding spots so when grass and stuff starts growing in the hides will be more natural. Looks good tho

That's so nice, and I know your baby will love it. When grass grows and you plant some perennials, it will be a little garden.

Hey, that looks great! You could try Boston fern- it is safe and available almost anywhere, and spider plant is great because it makes lots of little spider plants so you never run out! Good job!

Making some mounds of dirt could be nice too. It will help break up the line of sight and you would be surprised how much torts like walking up, down and around little hills. Plus once all the grasses and weeds grow in the dirt hills would now be planted hills and look really nice.

How big is the area? Hard to tell from the pictures.

Good work :) I'm sure it was a tough job.

Ohhh I have a whole bag of unused bird seed. My uncle is big into plants so when he's back in town I'm getting a lot more plants so ill show it then. I don't know the measurements but ill see when It warms up a bit outside. There's a lot of mounds since I never leveled anything but I'm thinking about putting bricks and a few more little stuff that will look interesting when the grass and plants come in.

Some more stuff. It's kinda cold here I thought for him.. 70-73 is the high an its 70 right now. His tanks 100 to 90. So I put a basking rock and heat lamp (bungy corded and zip tied in place) and add a few little decorations around.

It is beautiful ! I love the stones. I can't wait to see it with the plants. Great idea for the basking area.

I love having hosts I'my enclosures.....

It's pretty, you can get it from another area of your yard, provides great shade and if they eat it (which they can) it will just keep coming back!

Also, Carolina pet supply has some good seed mixes.

Let turbo run around is last night again, I felt bad cause I get home after dark during our showing season and he was running around his tank and pacing the glass so while we grilled I put lights in and let him roam for 30 min. Squirrels ate some of my aloes and dug my rocks up -.-

That looks so nice! I'd suggest planting some clover and other seeds for ground cover. You might also put some river rock along the inside edges to discourage digging. Planting a rosemary plant and a hibiscus bush would be welcomed by your tortoise, too. :) You can often find hibiscus for fairly cheap ("rose of sharon") at nurseries.

Great job!

Thanks for the compliments and ideas:) I appreciate it, I have a hibiscus but I'm waiting on my other stuff and until after the livestock shows to start working on it again. And squirrels suck I fixed it last night and they did it again today

I am NOT fond of squirrels.

They don't seem to bother Rosemary or Hibiscus (Rose of Sharon). While the Aloe is a good idea, if it attracts them, take it out. For that matter, take any plant out they seem to mess around with. Once those are gone, hopefully they will move on.

Some seeds have free shipping at Carolina Pet Supply:

Hmmm I shall stalk them. It's just we have like ten of them running around our bakyard. I'm gonna start trapping them.
