Hi all, I have a Russian tortoise who is about a year old. I recently bought a coil UVB bulb, and I'm not sure if it is good for his health. Should I be using a flood light UVB? I've looked around and I could only find a floodlight UVB that is used for plants. Would this be a better alternative than the coil UVB?

Ive heard to not use the coil bulbs, that they can be harmful to their eyes and vision. I would imagine that they flood light should be food to use if it puts off UVB.

They are known to cause eye problems, even eye failure and death :/
I Recommend using a MVB bulb, zoomed powersun or a exo terra powerglow..

I had 2 yearlings and one was blinded badly and the other not so much but still damaged. I would get rid of that bulb right now and just use a regular incandescent bulb until you can get a better UVB bulb...
