What species is this tortoise?

I found this in my yard today…. I’m pretty sure he/she is an Eastern box turtle, but can someone make sure? And can anyone tell the gender? I can’t see his/her tail, and I don’t want to scare them by picking them up.

Does it have only three toes each on the back feet? I'm thinking it's a very colorful three toe ( Terrapene carolina triunguis).

I did see his/her leg and it looks like it does have three toes, with yellow spots on the legs
