I was just wondering why many of us call our gopherus agassizii torts 'California Desert Tortoises' or CDTs. Why not 'Mojave Desert Tortoises' (MDTs)?
Would someone that has an agassizii from Arizona call them an 'ADT'? Or Nevada 'NDT'? Along that same line, are there any members here that have an agassizii and don't live in CA?
Seeing as the same species has a very wide native distribution that spans four states, is it narrow of us to refer to them as CDTs?
Just my random thoughts . . .
