wildflower mix?

Just was at Home Depot and saw wildflower mix and it triggered some dusty memory that some people planted that in their pens for grazing. Yay or nay? Do I need to be careful about what's in it? Or can I order the premade specific mixes and just hope it grows? I live just south of Chicago, so I have a few weeks yet of this crazy weather til Spring finally gets here.

The packages usually list what the mix could possibly contain. To be on the safe side I would double check with tortoise table before planting... I'm also living in the SW suburbs of Chicago and started a lettuce mix and some forget-me-nots inside to get a jump start on this extended winter... however my cats seem to think the new sprouts taste good so I'm battling more than just poor weather
