wondering about my tortoise

I was wondering about my tortoise too. I got him a week and half ago (he is a year old red foot). I have not seen him eating but he poops when I give him warm soaks so could he maybe be eating when I'm not watching

They're usually pretty shy for a couple weeks until they're sure they're in a safe place.

If I'm not sure if a critter is eating I offer small rounded piles of finely chopped food (sized like little meatballs) so I can see if they are eating and I can tell WHAT they are eating and what they are avoiding.
