I'm not really sure what I saw yesterday.....in the morning while Kerry was making her lunch for work Matilda was up. He was half into his water bowl with his rear legs fully extended while crouching in front. I hadn't seen this move before.....and something was extending down behind him....something like 2" long...looked like a upside-down "Y". As I moved behind him to get a better look in the near dark, it retracted.

What was I looking at?

It sounds like you were being shown how much of a man Matilda is. If it would of been a Sulcata there would be no question as to "What the Hell is that?" Now ya know, and knowing is half the battle. G I Joe.

Well no it was what happened to Sapphire that was scary. He was busy trying to roll it back in. I had the bright idea of using cold water to help him along in the meantime. Eeeek poor tort. I thought his guts got sucked out on the warm bricks. I was beating myself up for hurting my tortoise when it finally dawned on me what I'd witnessed. 😂
