I recently made some different care/housing threads! It’s been pointed out the mods may potentially mistake them for duplicates, I do apologise if that’s the case! My thinking was, having them separate allow for new folks to ask age&species specific questions and might be easier for them to navigate🙂
Hi Tom! Thanks so much for all your great info! Iv read your post many times to really understand the important of lighting/heating and humidity. However, are you able to show an example of placement of the 4 sources in a closed chamber enclosure and approx distance (even tho I know it depends on temp etc). Thanks so much!!
Hi Carol. I am new and looking into getting a Russian Tortoise. I have been looking and doing my research to make sure I have the appropriate set up for when I get one. I have heard that you breed them. I live in Pennsylvania is shipping possible here and what is the cost? I am not ready to get one yet but I am working on gathering information and learning all I can. When would you have some available?
I need to remove my 75 pound Sulcata tortoise from Sacramento California to my daughters house in Pensacola Florida. Any suggestions on me transporting him.?
Been in touch with the vet regarding Bo, she said there’s the potential that maybe because we’d recently given her a deep clean, her humidity may have been uncomfortable for her, it definitely went higher than usual when we’ve done cleans, some of the wood had to be thrown😣[1\3]

How's Bo today?

She’s not as active as she once was and is quite long overdue a shed now, so we are still concerned there’s something more going on. The exotic vet she’s under is on holiday atm, but we’ll be getting her back in to discuss next treatment steps. In the meantime we’re keeping her comfortable and will try offering another feed to see if she can keep it down🤞
Thank you for asking❤️

On the plus side she does still come out to drink and seems generally alert when we’re looking in, she’s still very grumpy during handling though which isn’t like her, will be happier once we can see the vet again
Poor Bo isn’t doing too well since the inconclusive results😞she’s thrown up her recent feed for no apparent reason, all we can think is there is something more underlying.. a kind decision may have to be made but we’re doing our best☹️🐍💚

Hello, I'm looking to give away a Russian tortoise who has been with us for about 6 years. My daughter, his main caretaker, is going away to college. Please help find a loving home for our little guy.

Hello! Can you make a post in the Adoptions section? More users will see it there. And be careful with new members with recent registrations and post - sometimes people want a free tortoise to sell it next day.
do you still have Russian tortoise hatchlings. I am looking to adopt one if possible???

Hi there. Sorry, I didn't get this until now.
Yes, I have several Russian tortoise hatchlings. They are still quite small, but will be ready to ship in October.
