Hello everyone.

My little Greek tort George is coming up to a year old now (wow!) and it's time to upgrade his bath, he's rather outgrown his last one. I've been reading lots of useful things here, but I'd like some advice on what people use. I know popping them into a sink or bathtub seems popular, but I don't really have anything that would be suitable for that. So far I've used a terracotta plant saucer, but Georgie has a habit of climbing out within a couple of minutes if he's not in the mood, and I really think he needs some more soak time. So would something with higher sides be better? Someone mentioned a plastic washing up bowl? My only issue with this is I'm not sure it would fit well in his enclosure by his heat lamp. I've found putting him in there helps keep him warm, but I also have plants in there that would get in the way as is. Is there a recommended bowl/saucer/thing?

Get something similar to this.

Just make sure the sides are tall enough. It doesn’t need to fit within the enclosure. He’ll be perfectly fine if you take him out shortly for a warm bath.

Try to find something with tall sides he can't climb out of, but with a small floorspace and something that will fit back inside his enclosure, so while he's soaking you can put the whole thing back inside to stay warm.

I use something like this for babies because it fits back into their enclosure to keep warm while they're soaking:

I put mine in an old refrigerator drawer. I then set it inside of the bathtub with super hot water surrounding it to keep her water warm. I also turn on the heater in the bathroom. This keeps her water nice and warm for 30-40 minutes.

But if he cannot come out of it, you can't leave it in his enclosure permanently unless you want him to hop on in and spend the day in water prison until you come by again. He will need a shallow plastic plant pot saucer sunk into the substrate, to be his enclosure pool.
